The Open Window literary magazine is delighted to introduce our Open Window Student Staff Editors. These students were selected from a competitive pool of applicants for their interest in writing, publishing, and improving their written and spoken English abilities. The Student Editors will help select pieces to publish, give feedback on submissions, and gain experience working with a literary publication in English.

Open Window Student Staff Editors 2018 – 2019
John Chin is a second year student of Naju Technical High School in Naju, Jeollanamdo. John sees an opportunity to experience new job opportunities and learn more about editorial jobs. If possible John will find a new future within the industry and wishes to see the creativity of the students in their submissions. He takes interest in reading novels and enjoys watching American and British dramas.
Chung Seyeon is a third grade student at Bugil Girls Academy in Cheonan. She became interested in this opportunity based on her passion for writing and desire to improve her editing skills. She hopes to learn interactively about the magazine editing process while working with a team who shares similar interests with her and to be inspired by diverse creative works of other students. Her interests and hobbies include: psychology, photography & film/dance, reading, cooking, drawing, hiking, and swimming.
Song Minjune is a first grader at Daedong Taxation High School in Seoul. He has a lot of interest in society and likes to discuss a social phenomenon so he tries to participate in many activities related to that work as much as possible. His personal goals is to improve his writing, expand his vocabulary and gain the ability to speak to different people naturally while having real conversations.
Woo Gabin is a second grader in Bugil Girls’ High School in Cheonan, Chungcheongnamdo. She has an interest in learning foreign languages, meeting new people, and having conversation with anyone. So, she wants to be a teacher in the future. Furthermore, since she likes to listen to music, watch movies, and read books as others usually do, she can talk with anyone about any subject and she is really friendly and easy to befriend. Through this Open Window editor activity, she wants to talk with various people and listen to their ideas about many different issues.
Yoon Kahee is a second grade student at Wonkwang Girls’ High School in Iksan. She was always interested in making magazines and news. So when she heard about the student editor workshop, she thought it was a great opportunity. Nowadays she’s interested in space, the advancement of foreign countries through immigration and study, math, and many things. She watches movies, makes some sweets, and takes photos for fun.
Open Window Student Staff Editors 2017 – 2018
Lee Hyeong Do is a second grader at Seoryeong High School in Seosan, Chungcheungnamdo. Hyeong Do applied for the student editor position because of he wants to become an economist in the future and his desire to face the ideas of many people by editing the magazine. He is also interested in improving his skills by working with different accents and expanding his vocabulary.
Ko Soo Yeon is a second grader at Jeju Jugang Girls’ High School in Jeju. Soo Yeon has an interest in English and international social studies and tries to participate in many activities related to that work. With her dream to be a global article editor and already working on her school’s English newspaper, she applied to be a student editor because she wanted to better understand how articles are structured and how authors convey their main purpose to audiences.
Han Ga Eun is a second grader at Jeju Jungang Girls’ High School in Jeju. With an interest in writing and publishing, Ga Eun applied for the student editor position because she wanted to experience editing in person after seeing editors on TV. One of her personal goals is to improve her writing, thought organization, and gain the ability to speak to different people naturally while having real conversations with them.
Open Window Student Staff Editors 2016 – 2017
Kim Tae Hyeun is a third grader at Jeong-eup High School in Jeong-eup, Jeollabukdo. He became a student editor to highlight other students who are eager to express their individuality. Tae Hyeun hopes to expand his view of society.
Yun Byeol is a second grader at Jeong Myung Girls’ High School in Mokpo, Jeollanamdo. Byeol was driven to apply to be a student editor to gain practical, but fun english writing, speaking and listening skills. Byeol’s will use these skills in the future as an International civil servant. Byul’s favorite flavor of bingsu is strawberry cheesecake.
Seo Ji Ye is a second grader at Chungbuk National University High School in Cheongju, Chungcheongbukdo. Ji Ye is passionate about learning new knowledge and interacting with people from various cultures. She was motivated to become a student editor by the opportunity to practice English. Ji Ye loves mango flavored bingsu.
Baek Ji Eun is a second grader at Jeonju Jungang Girls’ High School in Jeonju, Jeollabukdo. Ji Eun is interested in art, literature and writing. She joined the Open Window student staff editor team to gain experience to express her creative and leadership abilities as an editor. Ji Eun’s favorite flavor of bingsu is brownie cheesecake.
Seo Yu Jeong is a first grader at Jeong Myung Girls’ High School in Mokpo, Jeollanamdo. Yu Jeong dreams of being a magazine publisher in another country. She joined the Open Window student staff editor team to gain more English magazine experience and mentorship. Yu Jeong loves Oreo Choco Monster bingsu.
